Program Overview

The course of natural hairstyling contains both theory and practical curriculum to prepare the student for the beauty industry.

  • When the student completes the course, he or she will be able to pass the state board examination and be able to perform hair braiding, locking, weaving, and styling services in a salon.
  • TPSA’s objective for the natural hairstyling program includes theory and practical teaching that prepares the student to perform hair braiding, locking, weaving, and styling services on the public. The Academy offers a 300-hour training program in the natural hairstyling arts and sciences that meet the Michigan standards.
  • TSPA provides education in all phases of natural hairstyling. The graduate will have knowledge in the business skills of today’s industry as well as the theory and practical skills required.
  • The graduate will have the background and skills to pass the state board licensing exam and work as an entry-level natural hairstylist in a salon.
